The Present is Queer: LGBTQIA+ Identity in Contemporary American Craft & Museums

In 2016 I received a Research Grant from the Center for Craft, Creativity & Design to interview craft artists whose work in fiber and ceramics reflects their LGBTQIA+ identity and experience. In addition to the makers, I included the perspectives from a range of museum professionals to contextualize how museum institutions have evolved on interpreting the issues of race, gender, and sexuality addressed in the artists' works.

In 2019 this research formed the basis for presentations delivered at the annual conferences for the Museum Association of New York (Cooperstown, NY) and the Michigan Museum's Association (Dearborn, MI).
